"What do you think it needs, Inae?" My mom and I were experimenting with cookie batter.
"Hmm... cinnamon?" I asked.
"Cinnamon?" My mom repeated questionably. "YES! That's IT!" She squealed haply. "Honey, you are a genius! Go get some cinnamon!"
I haply flew down the two flights of stars into our hidden garden of spices. As I stepped in the rocks hummed with pleasure, and gave off a red glow. It shown dimly on the rows and rows of plants.
I started to walk to the back of the huge rock room, for that was were the cinnamon was. As I did so the glowing rocks flew level with me, leaving the place were I had been dark. A loud bang stopped me in my tracks. With my hart in my mouth I waited for another noise. The rocks started to shack, but they stayed at my side. Than I heard my mother scream.
"Mom?" I yelled and started to run back, but the plants stretched across the path and blocked my way. Than the door slammed shout. "NO!" I yelled and cried and screamed, but the plants would not let me go. "I HAVE to go save them!" I yelled helplessly.
The glowing rocks got together in groups to form the letters DANGER. "I know but what about mom and dad?" I cried. TO LATE the rocks spelled. "NO!" I sobbed. "NO it's NOT!" YES. I screamed. The plants patted my shoulders and hugged me but they brought little comfort.
After 16 hours of being in the garden the doors still stayed firmly shout. "When can I go?" I asked. WHEN THEY ARE GONE. the rocks replied. I took a beep breath. |
