Marceline is a vampire-teenage girl who is in love with her bass. We discover that it was originally "the family axe." (Marceline made it into a guitar.) Marceline is a talented singer, and is usually gloomy and negative about things. Long, long ago she used to be friends with Ice King, aka "Simon". She can get really irritable when things go wrong or don't go her way.
