SPANISH PASS (help site for learning spanish) - Tenses

There are rules to follow when changing a verb into the past, present or future. This may seem very complicated at first but once you get your head around it it'll be ok. It was difficult to get this across over the blog in a clear and simple way so I tried my best, hope it helps

THE PAST

Take of -er. -ar or -ir from the infinitive. Then add the correct endings.

For 'I' you replace -ar for an é
you replace -er for an í
you replace -ir for an í
eg. to work : trabajar
I worked : trabajé

For 'He/She/It' you replace -ar for ó
you replace -er for ó
you replace -ir for ó
eg. to drink : beber
He/She/It drank : bebió

For 'We' you replace -ar for amos
you replace -er for imos
you replace -ir for imos
eg. to live : vivir
we lived : vivimos

THE PRESENT

Take off -er, -ar or -ir from the infinitve and then add an 'o'
eg. to leave : salir
im leaving : salo

THE FUTURE

voy + a + infinitive

voy a comer = i'm going to eat
vamos a comer = we are going to eat
vas a comer : you are going to eat
van a comer : they are going to eat
va a comer : he/she/it is going to eat

Quisiera/Queiro + infinitive = I would like to....
Quisiera/Quiero comer por favor = I would like to eat please.
