red (italy) - 17/04/2005 : howdy everyone, i was boundlessly astonished at south africa recognizing western sahara as a sovereign state though UNs are still battling so both parties involved in western sahara affaire, morocco and so called polisario, come to a compromise regarding referendum.as we now, polisario wont accept saharawis living outside spanish-imposed boundries to vote.south africa is surely to worsen the situation there as it contradicts UNs agreements.as we all know, the prematurely called RASD is only recognized by some african countries that either were the product of european colonialism or finnacially maintained by algerian generals, who still fear morocco s eventual claim of what has come to be called moroccan algeria, large stretches of moroccan territory annexed to Algeria during its french occupation and never conceded back to morocco.south africa has upset us,africans who see in it our example of justice and democracy,by taking such a partial decision, thus reminding us of actions of what europeans call banana states.some politians convincingly argue that south africa action was predictable because military contracts ,sales and cooperation have increased of late.indeed south africa military aid to algeria,in exchange for some energy concessions ,has become substancial.to go back to western sahara affaire, history does more justice to morocco.in a definitive study carried out by Frank B Trout in 1968,he convincingly argues that morocco, one of the few states that existed before european occupation of africa, had its precolonial boundries considerably mutilated by spain and france though these had agreed in the Algecires conference to saveguard morocco territorial extension.in addition the study does not mention at anythihg about polisario as this was not founded until the 70s by some moroccan students, anti monarchy politicians and algerian generals.furthermore,Tony Hodge,a journalist specialized on the region, confirms that there would never have been a western sahara problem had the moroccan liberation army defeated the spanish troops.spanish troops and french air force crushed neatly inferior morocan army consisted of saharawis and northerners(sahrawis indicate origin not nationalty)most of whom joined moroccan royal forces.in the same articles published by Hodges under title of WESTERN SAHARA:roots of a desert war, argues that morocco recognizal of mauritania as independent state and spanish constant settlement also contributed to the birth and growing of western sahara independence.Trout in his MOROCCO SAHARIAN FRONTIERS confirms that spanish presence in southern morocco, including western sahara, was guaranteedby france, which controlled most of morocco.i,therefore, can understand France partial standing in this conflict but not South Africa s.France is responsible for morocco boundries problem.in fact, morocco recognized Mauritania as independent under french pressure.Hodges acknowleges that in the 50s many mauritanians officials and notables came to morocco so to pay allegiance to king Mohammed V and expressed their desire to rejoin motherland morocco when France freed that part. we,sadly, are witnessing that political decisions are motivated by personal interests than legality.hope South Africa gvt would not go way former racist gvt did. long live Mandela and conationals.no more banana states in africa .unification nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow
yannick (abidjan) - 01/05/2005 : j'aimerais decouvrir votre pays.je m'appelle yannick et j'ai 26 ans.
DIDI (Maroc) - 07/05/2005 : Don't believe Mr 'red', he is a moroccan police man. The western Sahara is not moroccan.
emmy (florida) - 10/05/2005 : relly cool
red (italy) - 14/05/2005 : hi.am not asking any one to believe me,am inviting u instead to check out inserted reference.dont want south africa officials to stick to an evident injustice for the simple reason that algeria is buying their arms and granting them oil,gas and iron.anyone who likes to visit western sahara has only to get a ticket for morocco.most flights r directed to casablanca airport, but air transit to laayoune is also available.mr didi, arent u algerian?
Adrien (Belgique) - 15/05/2005 : Moi, je fais un dossier pour mon cour de géographie sur l'Afrique du Sud et grâce à votre site, j'ai pu avoir des informations qu je ne trouvais pas ailleurs. Merci beaucoup !!!
africa (finland) - 28/05/2005 : it is so sad to see africa going deaper and deaper into its problems, africans usually blame the rich world of using the continent's richness for themselves, but I see that the africcans themselves are working agaist thier people's interest, how come that europe is getting united while africa is still going the other way? Algeria and south africa instead of keeping africa together are trying to separate the sahara from morocco? for example. I have been in africa morocco and sahara, it is a shme on south africa going with algeria into the same way, trying to separate morocco from its southern part! untill when we must wait to see africa free, free from its own blind policy!?

But there is one thing that makes me sad: South Africa is not working according to his position in africa.( here i mean the Head of Africa seeing what is it this this country compering to the whole world countries) it supposes to be the leader of African development, helping other african countries to go forward, to initiate and suport Africa Union.

ACONA (S.A) - 05/06/2007 : i never love a country like this i mean South Africa is a mother a father i mean is everything to me. the only thing i dont like or must i say i hate about it, is the inside descrmination beyond our ciltures, those eleven officail languages we have they descriminate each other, okay let me say each of those 11 officail languages has those individuals who r still stereotype, people lets united together and not pretend to love each other, so that other people could get a way of loving us back. (south africa we love u ohh our beautiful land)
