I'm going to be a shark biologist when I grow up. They're my favorite animal ever. I really love them. They are really misunderstood. People always wonder who they won't get attacked. easy answer. Don't go into the ocean. Then you have no worry of being attacked. Unless you live near a river near the ocean. Then you could be attacked by the Bull Shark. They can live in fresh or salt water. |

When I was there, a student from the town next to mine had been killed by a shark!

So wickedly cool to see that you want to be a shark biologist. Is it hard to study that in USA? I've watched some programs about studies in the US to a marine biologists and to me it seems that California it's the center of marine studies, or?
How will you manage to study sharks? I defenitly would love to do it as well, I'm from Sweden and they're not common here in case of the over fishing in the late 70s, it's so sad. In my point of view here in rich Scandinavia, every fisher boat should be a controller so no illegal fishing is suited and let all fishes repare and reparate themselves into a normal scale. |

je suis tout à fait d'accord avec noémie. le requin est l'animal qu'il faut absolument protéger!!!!!! cette image que beaucoups de personnes donnent de lui est nusible pour le requin mais aussi a des conséquences sur les récifs et le monde sous-marin. pour ceux qui sont interressés je fais partis d'une association sur montpellier qui essaye de les protéger. cette association s'appelle AILERONS. |

Moi aussi j'adore les requins, je trouve que les gens qui ont en peur ne les connaissent pas assez, ils ont peur d'eux à cause des films comme "Les Dents de la Mer", alors qu'en réalité ils ne nous tuent pas par plaisir (contrairement à nous les humains, soit dit en passant), ils le font parce qu'on est sur leur territoire, ou parce qu'ils nous confondent avec des proies !
Si tu veux en savoir plus, je te conseille d'aller regarder le film "Les Seigneurs de la Mer" =) Excellent documentaire qui explique bien le comportement des requins ^^ |

Sharks are over 400 million years old. This ancient predators are such good survivors they need little change. Sharks are is a kind of fish known as Chondrichthyes, or cartilaginous fish. That means they do not have bone but cartilage. Cartilage is strong,flexy, and fibrous substance. Much softer than bone. Our ears and nose is made out of cartilage. Their class is known as Elasmodranchii, that includes ray and skates.
Shark are considered the greats preditors of the world. My favorite sharks are the great white, shart fin mako, and thresher shark. |
