I'd like to know if I have the possibility of communicating by "e-mail" through this site with my students.
If I, as a teacher, agree with another teacher to do a pen-pal exchange with our respective students, we make pairs, then how do we get our students as a group to send messages to each other, like -email, but without using e-mail, but this webpage?
Do they have then to register individually as if they were doing this on their own, and then the students at the other end answer to them?
How can they find each other?

Hello everyone! I teach English to 6th graders (11-12 yeras old) in a town near Barcelona, Spain, and we’re about to start a project about Europe’s geography and political organisation. I want to do something quite new and motivating, and I thought about the possibility of getting in touch with schools from the different countries in Europe. We could do a little cultural exchange with all the schools, and this way we could do a virtual trip around the Continent.
Depending on each school needs and interests we could agree to do the most suitable activity, I’m open to new ideas. We could write or skype in English or Spanish. I can speak French too (my students don’t).

Bonjour! Je suis professeur de français en Espagne et je souhaterais de faire un échange épistolaire avec mes deux classes de 6ème. Il s’agit de deux groups (26 élèves chaque un) dans son deuxième année de Français. Ils sont vraiment motivés et ils apprennent très vite! L’année dernière nous avions une très belle expérience avec une école de Côte d’Ivoire pendant tout l’année scolaire! Cette année scolaire on aimarait bien connaître des nouveaux amis francophones (de la France ou la Belgique de préférence).
Nous souhaterions de faire un échange pendant tout l’année scolaire et on pourrait aussi nous envoyer emails, vidéos etc. sur notre école, notre ville et culture.

Our students' ages are 15-16 so your school should have students with similar ages. The number of the students taking part in the exchange must be 15 since that is one of the requirements of the Educational Authorities to apply for a grant to cover the expenses.
Malaga is a well-known tourist destination by British and Irish citizens: sunny weather, beaches, museums, proximity to other monumental cities in Andalusia such as Granada and Seville. Je m'appelle Muriel Bouvier et je suis professeur de français langue étrangère en Espagne, en Galice plus exactement, à 20 km de St. Jacques de Compostelle dans un collège rural (CPI Viaño Pequeno de Trazo).
Le but de mon annonce de trouver, pour cette année scolaire, des correspondants francophones pour mes élèves qui ont choisi l'option français (2 heures par semaine en 5ème, 4ème, 3ème et trois heures pour les élèves de 2nde).
Il me semble intéressant de compléter leur formation linguistique par un apport culturel authentique. Grâce aux nouvelles technologies, les élèves pourraient avoir des contacts, par mail principalement ou même par skype, avec des élèves français qui étudient l'espagnol.
Cet échange pourrait, dans un premier temps, consister à se présenter, présenter les collèges respectifs, présenter leur environnement, parler de leurs activités périscolaire, et peut être aussi des différentes festivités qui ponctuent l'année scolaire. Ce ne sont que quelques idées préliminaires.
L'objectif d'un tel échange est de renforcer ce qui est appris en classe et lui donner un sens. Il s'agirait, en quelque sorte d'une mise en pratique de la langue.
Si cette initiative vous semble intéressante, n'hésitez pas à m'en faire part.

I established a contact for penpalling last year with my older students and it was great. This year I am teaching the younger ones, they are 7 years old but i am determined to ask them to write a few words in English/French. We are a Secondary/ High school in Urretxu, based in the Basque country, northern Spain. The school is located in a scenic place surrounded by mountains and very well connected with the beautiful city of San Sebastian, and one hour far away from the Bilbao and Biarritz international airports which facilitates exchanges. Also, it’s fair to say our region is very famous for its excellent gastronomy; here you can eat the best pintxos (mini tapas) in the whole world.
We are looking for partners from other countries for an exchange project in host families for the next course 2017-18. Our students are 16-17 years old and they can communicate in a lower-intermediate English, and Spanish or Basque.
The aim of this project is to allow students to interact with and learn from people who are in a different country. This cultural exchange will assist our students to develop positive relationships with others, broad their perspectives, and develop the knowledge and skills needed for participation in our multicultural society.
They would start with a “virtual” interaction, practicing their ICT skills by emails, WhatsApps, Skype… chatting about their own cultures and traditions… and after that they would have the 5-7 day trip abroad; this visit could be in spring 2018, although we are flexible to change the dates.
We think travelling on a program like this really opens the world up to students. This type of programs encourages them to take their English classes seriously when they know they will actually use the language in person.

I am the English language teacher in a secondary and vocational school in the north west of Spain. Our students are over 16.
