Geography - "Introduction for me"

Introducing myself as I just am joining, glad to be here! I'm glad to be here last but not least, going to submit given that I've been reading through a prolonged time.

I've been concerned for a while and have identified this spot to have much more effective content, so it helps make sense to finally become an active member!

BTW, what can I do to make myself have a cool title like some people here have? I always am by my phone but not by my computer, even a dietician requires so much to keep up to date!

modify delete 14362 - Reply from Julien Manga214 , 27 yrs (Sénégal) - 2010-10-27

Geography - "HAVE QUESTION ABOUT THE MOON."

hallo guy,am elisante from tanzania,i have questions.
1st~why the astronauts they wear the spacesuit on the moon?
2nd~how this craters of the moon where formed?
3rd~why people can't live on the moon?
4th~how does the moon formed?
5th~why people can't live on the moon?
6th~is there a water surface on the moon and if there is can we plant crops?

I have some ideas but i need more information.okay see u.

Is the education level in your country really that low? In the West we learn all about those things before we're 7
To answer your questions:
1st-there is no air in space so they would die without helmets. The suits are to protect them from deadly radiation from the sun
2nd-meteorites
3rd-There is no air there and the deadly rays from the sun would kill everyone
4th-A big asteroid crashed into Earth causing a part of the earth to break off and after several million years, all the rocks came together and formed the moon
5th-see 3rd
6th-there isn't, it's all rocks and dust

Retard nigger

modify delete 15140 - Reply from Gitanjali19 (India) - 2011-08-06

I will try to answer your questions. Hope they help. :)
1st~ This is to provide them so many things which are not available to them on the moon. first the suit has a supply of oxygen so that the astronauts can breathe. the system also removes the carbon dioxide they exhale out. second it maintains proper pressure around the body so that it won't implode or explode. third, it also protects the astronauts from the harmful radiation. remember the moon has no atmosphere to protect the astronauts. it also remove the wastes produced by them like CO2.

2nd~ early in the moon's history it has been bombarded with meteorites asteroids and all kinds of space rock. it has been estimated that the earth and the moon have been exposed to the same degree of bombardment. but on earth these craters have long since vanished because of weathering. however there are no such agents of weathering (like running water, wind, plants etc) to weather out these craters. so the moon still bears the proof of its violent history.

3rd~ people can't live on the moon cause there is no atmosphere and no water. first without atmosphere you'll have no oxygen to breathe and you know how important oxygen is. next due to lack of an atmosphere, there will be no pressure so you'll explode. third there is no ozone, no magnetosphere and no atmosphere to protect you from the harmful radiation of the sun and other cosmic radiation. and then there is no water. for the carbon based life which exists on earth water is very much necessary and without it carbon based life form cannot survive.

4th~ there are a bunch of theories on how the moon was formed. I'll tell you one which i think is the most probable. scientists think that during the early days of the earth's formation, a huge chunk of rock rammed into the earth to break off a piece from it and form the moon.

6th~ well earlier probes to moon had high hopes of finding liquid water on the moon. but their tests were a disappointment as they couldn't find any trace of water. but recently chandrayaan had made news. reportedly it had found some form of water on the moon. so i think the existence of water on the moon is a very controversial topic.

so i guess that helped :) good day :)

hi. i can answer those Qs
1. astronauts wear space suits so they can breate in space.
2. craters on the moon were formed by meteors crashing onto it.
3. people cant live on the moon because there is no air and the temps are too hot during the day and too cold at night.
4. the moon was formed when the big bang happend. the big bang was an explosion and everything in our univerese began.
5. this is the same Q as #3.
6.no, there is no water on any planet exept earth, but some scientist believe there was once water on mercury but there is little proof

1- because they must keep their usual air pressure. If not, they would explose !
2- craters were made by meteorits
3- because you don't have atmosphere : neither air pressure, nor oxygen
4- Nobody knows. We only supose it made made by a huge mereorit collision with Earth 4 billion years ago.
5- see 3
6- yes, but in very very smal quantities, so you cannot see it. Plants would be able to live there if there was an atmosphere... If so, temperatures would be correct (actually too cold in dark side / too hot at sun light)

I like this quote. I think that it reminds us that everyone (atheist, agnostic, Hindu, Christian, Muslim, etc) must try to find ways to get along and love each other. It also seems to agree that we should try and make the world as beautiful as we can. Finally, we must take responsibility for our time on Earth and, even if we are waiting for an afterlife, realize that we must also strive to make earth good. After all, you must have a life before you need worry about after life.

Einstein's statement means just what it says. Scientists believe the universe is infinitely large. He however, humourously adds, that the stupidity of people is perhaps even more surely infinite. Basically he means that people do stupid things for stupid reasons. For example Einstein was a European Jew during the Holocaust. Surely, this event alone would be enough to think that human stupidity is endlessly large.

I would say that knowledge and communication could be a solution for peace. Because many ennemies of Occidentals have a wrong opinion of us. Because of their traditions, overall concerning women who are considered as inferiors. The problems are the stereotyps. But knowledge and communication are very restricted by barbarians that must be absolutely tamed. Schools are only for boys and often they live only by their traditional beleifs and are completely conditionated against us. No way to make them uderstand the truth and so as they do attempts, the only way is war. And we should never forget the roman sentence : "who wants peace prepares war".

13572 -

13572 -
modify delete 13577 - Reply from scholar7 (usa) - 2010-03-06

So, I guess you like quotations!

For this one, I guess it basically means that if you lead/subdue by force it is only a matter of time before those that are subservient to you will try to revolt. However, if your leadership is based on respect and understanding, it is a lot more likely that your position will be maintained. The same is true for peace.

A forced peace is artificial and will crumble at the first show of weakness. However, if two disagreeing sides truly take the time to get to know each other and love each other, then they will not want to fight.

If you make friends with your enemy, he is no longer your enemy!

Low - Not rigid/bumpy - it is smooth
