Primary school - "Penpals"

Hi,
I am a "looping teacher" (I move from second grade to third grade with my students) in Hinsdale, New York. My third grade teaching partner and I are looking for an English speaking teacher from anywhere in the world who would be interested in exchanging student letters (ages 9 - 10). We would like to include the letters in our reading, writing and social studies lessons to give students a real world connection to other cultures. I would love to hear from anyone with similar interests. I look forward to hearing from you!

I have 158 students total, so I need as many responses as possible. :) Thank you!

High school - "**Looking to Pen Pal with HS students from "the South" about the Civil War."

Hi,

I'm looking for some students who would like to pen pal with some students from a suburban high school in Massachusetts. We are going to be learning about the Civil War this year and one of the areas of study is "sectionalism" and the divide between the North and South that in some ways carries into the present day.

It would be great to have our students interact about what they are learning about the Civil War so they can discuss the way the teachers are approaching the subject, how the students are responding, and what our impressions are about each other given some of the stereotypes that often prevail about the "other".

I think if we structure this properly, this could be a really transformative experience for all the students, and the teachers as well.

Hope to hear from you.

Primary school - "Pen pal with a school in Florida USA"

we are a school in Florida looking for pen pals to write conventional letters/snail mail We have about 375 students K-8. We have approx 250 in 3-8 grade and 195 in K-2 age range is 5-14. We would like to eventually pair up the entire school with a pal. It's our first time doing this so we would like to do it one class at a the time with different schools from different countries.your entire school doesn't have to pen pal with us if you don't need to...one class with your school is perfect we have no problem doing just that. We would like to do all the grades eventually but we will match one class at a time so whatever grade you have available will be ok with us.WE WANT TO GIVE OUR KIDS AN OPPORTUNITY TO LEAR ABOUT OTHER CULTURE AND LEARN TO WRITE CONVENTIONAL LETTER NO EMAILS email me for more info about our school. mukendifamily@ymail.com

Hi!
I have a group of about 14 High School Life Skills students. Although they are in high school, the cognitive functioning of the majority is around early elementary. We live in Pennsylvania in the U.S. and participate in a virtual learning environment. I'd love to have my kiddos correspond with others to learn about different cultures/people and to practice writing and technology skills. Please let me know if you are interested! Thakn you!

Greetings from warm California! My name is Marie and I am a 5th grade writing teacher in Los Angeles, CA. Our school is set up like a middle school, so I have 4 different classes of 5th graders that I teach (120 students total). I would love if my students had the opportunity to communicate with children in other parts of the world and practice their writing skills and English (many are 2nd language learners). I am absolutely fine having penpals in the United States as well, I just want my kids to get out there and start practicing. If you have any interest please contact me at mariev51@hotmail.com. Thanks!

Marie :)
