99294 - from Constance (USA) - 2014-07-23 : "Pen-Pals?" Hi, I'm a 5th grade teacher in Texas. I'd like to find pen-pals for my students this year! It doesn't matter if your class is inside/outside of the U.S. - any opportunity to practice writing is great. My students are all bilingual (Eng/Span), so they can send and receive letters in both languages. I'm not sure how many students I will have for the 2014 - 2015 school year, approx. 15-25. I'd like to plan maybe 1 time each month to exchange our letters (we could collect our whole class' letters and mail them at once). And maybe pick different types of writing...like persuasive, expository, personal, etc. Let me know if you're interested! Thank you! Constance

99598 - Reply from Tina (Sweden) - 2014-08-12 Hi. I have a class here i Sweden that is looking for penpals from an English speaking country, preferably in the USA. I have 22 5th graders in the age 11-12 (15 boys and 6 girls). We would like to exchange snail mails in English - send a parcel with letters from all the pupils in the class (and other things like pictures, coins, stamps, candy/sweets, stickers etc.) every other month. Except the individual letters from each student we will tell you about our school, city and country (for example culture, food, language, geography etc). We would like to start this project this autumn (late August or early September) and continue until June 2015. I have done projects like this with all my former classes but now I am looking for a new school/teacher to exchange letters with. Please let me know if you are interested in becoming penpals with us.
