99147 - from Abigail (USA) - 2014-07-15 High school : "Letter correspondence" I am a high school teacher in the state of Massachusetts, USA. I am looking to establish correspondence with a Spanish speaking school throughout the school year. I teach 4 different classes so it would be hard to set up an individual to individual pen pal exchange but I am interested in exchanging letters throughout the year written by the class as a whole on a given topic agreed upon by myself and the other teacher. We would write out letters in English and the Spanish speaking school in Spanish and I would use the letter to complete various activities in the class. (Ej. vocabulary, culture, grammar). Looking forward to hearing from someone who thinks this type of correspondence would be beneficial in their class.

99253 - Reply from Decontee (Ghana) - 2014-07-21 We are a grade school situated in the beautiful and peaceful nation of Ghana, this is an institution set up to educate young children as well as the less privileged.In a country like Ghana where poverty in all its forms abounds, it is not easy to find every child in school and we are doing everything possible to assist young people achieved knowledge to become useful in society. i am sponsoring 6 classes, I am presently in search of a class to communicate with. We would want to extend to a whole school partnership in which respective classes will be paired for project activities over time. We really want the partnership to be sustained over time. My students speak English as their first and only language. They however speak their local dialect. Most of the students are Liberian refugees from the refugee camp here in Ghana. As an instructor of cultural studies and geography I would like to connect my students to communicate with students in any part of the world They would prefer U S A or Great British using basically snail mail or postal mail. This is due to the lack of internet access here. I believe this exchange will help develop their writing and reading skill and also help them understand their geographical setting.
