Primary school : "hoping to start a cultural exchange"

Hello,
My name is Sarah and I am a teacher at a primary school in California. I'm hoping to start a letter/email/picture & artwork exchange project with my students ages 4-6, 7-9, 10-13 as part of their writing and social studies lessons beginning in September. I would love for my students to have the opportunity to learn about another culture, share about life in California, and work on their writing skills at the same time! Perhaps it will inspire them to learn another language as well. If you have students learning English in any of those age ranges and are interested, please email me!
thanks,
Sarah

I am an English teacher from South Africa and my 11 year old daughter who excels in English, would like to have a penfriend from your country. She is in 7th grade. Her hobbies are swimming, reading, skipping, playing with her Barbie dolls and PSP. Her favourite American programme is Jessie.

Please email me on sindiswamtimkulu@hotmail.com or call me on +27 78 388 5026. Remember, we are about 11 hrs ahead of you, so it would be best to phone before 9a.m. California time. Sindi.

Hello!
I teach grade 1 under the foot hills of the Himalayas named Sikkim, which is in India. I have 23 children in my class, and their converse and write in English quite well. We are doing a very short unit on letter writing. I thought it would be very nice if the children could correspond with someone from a different country for various reasons and get a real life experience of snail mail.

Thank You
Sonam

Hi,

I am in a urban school in Portsmouth UK. There are 3 classes of approx 30 children each. This term we are doing a project looking at rural and urban places in the UK and we would love the children to have someone to share this with and maybe explore the same in another country. We are starting our topic next week (sorry for the short notice) so we would really like to start an email exchange soon!

Helo Sarah!
My name is Gorane Iam an English teacher in Bilbao (North of Spain). I would be very interested in having a partnership letter communication with your students. I teach English to children 10-11 year old students (%o students), their level is not very good but they are willing to contact with students from all around the world and I think this could be the best way to motivate themto improve their English.
We start the school year this september so it would be great if we could start a little bit after that, if you are still interested.

Waiting for your answer

Hello

In 2013/2014 I am again going to lead an annual project on 5 continents with my class of MS/GS (4-6 years old). In this executive I wish to renew the experiment of this year, namely to lead a project of type(chap) "flat stanley " with maternal classes (PS to CP or 2nd year of primary school) French speakers who are abroad or except metropolis. The principle is simple there, it is a question of making with the pupils (in the form of dictation to the adult for the smallest) a case on the village, the city or the region where is the school with photos on the region, the landscapes, (possibly flora or specific fauna), customs 1 recipe of a dish, 1 song or a bed song in the language and a panel of words(Numbers from 0 to 12, days of the week, hello, goodbye, thank you, happy birthday) written in the language of the country. Then every class sends this file(case) by e-mail or mail way in each of the other participating classes according to a calendar defined in advance.
I thus look for French-speaking classes which would be interested in this project.
Bonjour

Hi Sarah,
I'm a primary school teacher in the north east of France (Champagne-Ardenne area, where the famous drink is producted !!!) at 150 km from Paris.
I had pen friends in France this year and i feel ready to start a correspondence with an english spoken country (even if my english isn't so good !!!).
I'll have 22 pupils from 8 to 9 years old.
They will begin learning English and i would like to make some real situations of communication by writing in english with other children.
It would be a good opportunity to share with you arts products, songs and to learn more about your school system, your traditions and to share ours.
Next year, children from 10 to 12 will have pen friends from Michigan and will go to see them in February. The american children will come to see us in may.
I find interesting to include my pupils in an exchange by letters and emails with America. Even if we won't go to see you, they will be proud to do something like their older classmates.
Tell me soon if you are interested to write to my class. I will be in holidays tomorrow and would make profit of 2 months of holidays to begin working to this project.
Hope to have news soon !
Have a nice evening,
Stéphanie

Hello Sarah,
I'm a primary teacher in the North of France, in a small village next to Belgien. I'm 33 years old and I've got 29 pupils, they are 10/11 years old. They began English last year. They really love this new language but we only learn in books and it's sometimes boring, they need to know that people use English and that their lifes are different. I don't know California and it will be so fun for them, you and me if we could start together an exchange. We could speak about celebrations, geography, our schoolprojects ... I really hope, you'll read this mail and I hope you'll answer.
Bye bye
