74500 - from Michele (USA) - 2013-05-24 Primary school : "Looking for pen pals from across the world" I am a fourth-grade teacher in the United States state of North Carolina. When school resumes in late August, I want to establish pen pals for my students from around the world. I am trying something new!! I want my students to have the opportunity to learn about others through conversations with other children from different countries around the world. I am open to having my entire class pal up with a class from somewhere else or having different students team up with different students from around the world. The small town we live in does not provide a lot of diversity and I think my students need to realize that the world holds more for them than just growing up and working at WalMart or McDonalds. I am currently attempting to set up some sort of pen pal email exchange with an English speaking school somewhere in the states. My students are mixed ages between 7-12. Most of them have basic English skills and I will personally assist them with their writing and responses. To begin with, I'd like to introduce by myself :) I'm 16 years old, and I'm the 2nd grader in high school! I live in Korea, and I'm a leader of a diplomat club at my school! I established it, so it's a new club. And we are looking for pen-pals from other countries :) Especially lots of students in our school are interested in the U.S, so that's why I send you a message:))) All students want to be international people in the future, and we can share Korean culture, and languages a lot ^_^! and I hope we can exchange each other's cultures, if we can do exchange program!
