Hi, my name is Ivana, and I have a Vintage Spinoza Bear. Basically he is a teddy bear from the 1980s that has helped hospital children, ill children, neurodivergent children and children with autism/asd. I got the bear from online via online shopping and I got him for a good inexpensive offer. So basically my spinoza bear is the first version from 1985, and although he is a teddy bear he also has a cassette player with a volume knob on the bear’s heart. He was popular in the United States for being related to teddy Ruxpin and had no competition with other hospital cassette plushies, besides the teddy ruxpin and other world of wonder toys, and its knockoffs like gabby bear. That is one thing that made Spinoza unique, but it’s also because my Spinoza bear looks cute because of his slightly lighter fur color than the other 3 versions of Spinoza. He had cassette tapes that were mainly slow paced and from my research it was one of the reasons it changed Peter Himmelman’s life, and Peter actually voiced the Spinoza’s tapes. I don’t have any of the Spinoza tapes but I heard his songs on YouTube. I will fix and maybe even troubleshoot his cassette player, and even if it’s a not perfect fix, I will test him out, and use the cassette player of my Spinoza bear as well via a test tape.
Have you ever seen Spinoza bear before and what do you think about Spinoza bear, teddy ruxpin, and other cassette player plush toys? Do you know them and cared for them? Or even attempted to repair/fix them before? |
