40955 - from Cindy (USA) - 2011-09-20 : "Looking for 1st Grade or 2nd Grade Penpals" Hi..my name is Cindy Temple. I am a First Grade teacher at Marion Elementary School in Shelby, North Carolina. I am looking for a class that would like to penpal my class of 17 students. I would love for my students to have the opportunity to correspond with children in another country and learn about their culture. Through mail or Skype would be great!

41847 - Reply from Nieves (Spain) - 2011-10-17 Hallo Cindy, I teach English in a primary school in Ceuta, Spain. I would love to start a pen pal project with my students (around 50)aged 6 to 8 . It would be very interesting beginning with snail mail. I find it very important for the students, so as to know about other foreign cultures and improve english as well. We want to start asap. Je suis en France, proche de la grande ville de Lille (Nord de la France), et à moins de 250Km de notre capitale, Paris. Mes élèves ont 10 ans en moyenne. Ils sont en CM2, c'est à dire notre dernière année de scolarité avant le collège. J'ai une classe de 23 élèves. Ils étudient l'anglais depuis 3 ans. L'an edrnier, j'ai pu correspondre avec un professeur anglais (et sa classe). Elle se trouvait à Stanford. Nous avons échangé des lettres, des mails et même fait des conversations avec Skype (conversation en direct). Cela a été très riche pour les élèves et très motivant. J'aimerais retrouver à nouveau un correspondant pour cette année. Si vous voulez prendre contact, n'hésitez pas. J'espère à bientôt. Mathilde
