Middle school : "6th-8th grade Students seeking Pen Pals!"

I teach 6th-8th grade (ages 11-14) Pre-AP English & Reading at a small, rural school in Texas. I anticipate having around 47 students this year between the ages of 11-14. Our first day of school is August 24, 2011. We have access to computers and would be able to send emails occasionally, but I would prefer for my students to write letters (snail mail) to their pen pals. I want them to learn and practice the art of letter writing and last year they really enjoyed getting a real letter in the mail. My goal is for my students to strengthen and practice their communication skills while making new friends, and learning about different people and places at the same time. We would like to discuss daily life, interests, cultures, books, and/or take part in a project. We would like to send traditional letters through the mail, but we can also send emails once or twice a month.

Hello!
I read your ad and believe we can make the perfect pen pal match for our students!

First I would like to give some more information about my school: Sint-Ritacollege is a large secondary school near Antwerp in Belgium. There are approximately 1500 students in our school. I am searching for an international partner for 3 classes of mine, each filled with 24 14-15-year old pupils. I teach them English 3 hours a week. Their proficiency of English is diverse: for most of them the level is pre-intermediate, some have a higher level.
My goal is to let the pupils come into contact with native speakers of English through letters. They can get to know each other, share interests and hobbies and get to know each other's culture.
If this sounds interesting to you: don't hesitate, let's get the communication started!

bye

Hello, my name is Reagyn Amanda Daryn, I am 12 years old, in grade 7, and I would love to be the Pen Pall of one of your students. I love music, and I simply can not live without art. art is my passion. I also enjoy cooking,I love writing, and my favorite sport is swimming. I am pretty good at (and enjoy) math in my school as well. So if you have a student with similar (or the same) interests, i would love to be friends with them. So thank you very much, -Reagyn

Hello!

I teach English in a middle school in a big village near Lyon in France. I will have 2 classes of pupils aged 11/12 and 3 classes of pupils aged 13/14 next year. The school year starts on 5th September. I am looking for English-speaking penpals (by email or snail mail) for my students. I'd like them to exchange ideas about everyday life, school, family, leisure, music, food, celebrations... anything that could interest teenagers, teach them about other countries and people and help them improve their English. I also have a special project with one of my Year 4 classes, entitled "Around the English-speaking world". I am convinced that this is a very motivating and rewarding way to learn a foreign language, make friends and open one's mind to others. So,don't hesitate to contact me at karinemilan@msn.com

Hello,
my name is Isabelle DURASTEL. I teach English in primary school and Junior high in the South of France, near Toulouse. For next September I plan to start an exchange with an English speaking school . If you are interested, please let me know. I'll be happy to correspond with the teachers first, in order to think about the best ways to create this "twinning". Hope to read from you soon.

Isa.
