High school : "Teacher in High School in Chicago_Looking for French penpals_"

Dear teachers,
I am a French teacher in a High School in Chicago. I have been teaching at Lane Tech for the past 12 years, a college preparatory high school, and one the top 3 public schools in the city. I have been thinking of initiating a 'French Pen Pal project" between my students and students from France in "Lycées". I know that many of my French students, who have been studying French for the past 3 years, would love to take on this new challenge, and to have the opportunity to speak directly with a native French speaker. Being able to communicate with another student of the same age abroad, and who share similar interests, is something that my students would be looking forward to do. Our students could talk about themselves and learn about their respective cultures more in depth, and improve their writing skills in both languages. My French students are mostly Junior and Seniors, and between the age of 16 and 17. These honors students are very competitive by nature and love to take on new challenges. I think that this project would be beneficial and exciting for our students on each side of the Atlantic, and it would be a new opportunity for them to enhanced their writing skills.
