Middle school : "Penpals needed for ages 12-14"

I teach English/Reading to students in the 7th and 8th grades (ages 12-14). We are located in Texas, in the USA. English is my students first and only language, but a couple of them can also speak Spanish. I anticipate having around 24 students this year. Our first day of school is on August 23, 2010. Ideally, I want my students to strengthen and practice their communication skills this year by corresponding through email with other students around the world. We can do email and/or written letters. I want my students to be able to write back and forth with their penpal and discuss general things like: daily life, interests, cultures, books, and/or take part in a project. We have access to computers and other technology, and my students will also be using a blog this year to discuss books they will read. Thanks!

Hi, I am an English teacher from Spain. I would like to give my students the opportunity to get into contact with students from other countries because they are eager to improve their English and, above all, to know people from the USA. They are 12-14 years old.

I hope you are interested in us.

Greetings from Spain

hello! I'm an ENglish teacher in france near grenoble. I have pupils aged from 11 to 16 years old. I would like them to exchange with other pupils to improve their English of course but also to discover other countries, other cultures....We could correspond with e-mails, send photos, talk about our school rules and environment..and the ideal would be to build a project together...I would like them to participate in a caritative project, something to HELP other people....i don't know....
Thanks for your answer...
See you soon.
Noémie.

Hello Jennifer,

I teach English to students in the 9th grade, however, in Japan 9th grade is still middle student. I speak Spanish as well, so I could translate for your Spanish-speaking students. English is my students second language, so the penpal exchange would be a great opportunity for them to improve their English communication skills. It would also be a great opportunity for them to learn about another culture. The letter exchange would be with 3 classes, 25 students, 20, and 15, respectively. Unfortunately my students will not have assess to computers during class time. I hope we can work together on this project and I'm looking forward to your response.

Thank you,

Guadalupe

Hello, I'm an English teacher working in the North-East of France and I'm in charge of 4 classes: pupils from 9 to 14/15 and we would be really happy to exchange mails or letters with your pupils. I'm ready to work on school projects and we've already worked on USA last year and it would be really interesting to exchange with US pupils.
I think it would help all the pupils to get to know more about culture, traditions and the country.
I hope you will answer to this message,
thanks,
Jalila

Hello Jennifer!
If you haven't found a school yet to correspond with your students, I would be very much interested to do so beginning of september. I'll have a class of about 30 students aged 13-14 who have had 2 or 3 years of english and are really motivated to write or e-mail to american penpals.
Let me know if you are interested,
dominique

Hi Jennifer,
I am a teacher of English in the south of Poland, I teach students aged 13-16 years old. They would love to have friends around the world, find out about different cultures, share information on daily life, customs, etc. So far we have written to our friends in Europe, it would be fantastic to have friends in such a remote country. Looking forward to your answer.
Regards,
Beata
