: "Penpal"

I am a 2nd grade teacher and I would like my students to increase their writing and communication skills. I think that communicating with students from another country would help motivate their interest in writing.

Hi Ms. Graham
I am a Year Three teacher (7-8 year olds) in a school on the Isle of Sheppey, England and would very much appreciate a class for my children to become penpals with. The school is in a fairly deprived area and i feel that writing to a friend would give my children the motivation and purpose to write, which in turn will progress and hopefully develop their skills.
I look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you

Kate Turner

My name is Melissa Gethner and I am student teaching at Lynn G. Haskin
Elementary School in Sandwich, IL. As a part of my unit plan I would
like the children to understand that the world is larger than their
town, so I thought one way I can do that is by having the children
write to pen pals in another state. If you are interested please let
me know and we will set something up!

Hi

I am looking for a penpal for my child who wants to write to a friend in another country and share her correspondence with her class. She is a keystage 1 pupil, in her 3rd year at Primary school (similar to 1st Grade). Her class (whom I work with from time to time)have written to children at a school in Australia and really enjoyed this.

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

Ms Henderson (UK, Manchester)
