: "Pen Pals wanted (Primary School)"

Hi, we're a class of 20 kids (2nd grade - 7-9 yrs) and are looking for English and/or German speaking pen pals from Ireland, Great Britain and USA. We are planning on doing a project with English speaking kids - how they live, what they enjoy, etc. as our kids will start learning English during the next year.
Our class consists of 10 boys and 10 girls and our school is located in the middle of Germany (about 60 km north of Frankfurt). Your kids do not have to speak German, we have a translator available and there are many other ways to communicate.
The kids can't wait to hear from you.
Thanks. Monika

Monika,

Guten Tag! I have a class of 15 students, ages 7-8. We are also looking for pen pals that we are able to write to and learn more about Germany. If you are interested in working together, please let me know. We are very interested in communicating with you.

Hi!
I am a language student of German, aged 17. I have been learning German for a short while, and recently passed GCSE exam, grade B. I now have a small class of 10 boys who are aged 11/12, and are learning German from me. They would like to write in German to children in Germany for a few months. Although they are not fluent in German (Nor me!!! but I can speak a fair bit of German) they do know a lot of topic specific vocabulary such as people and places, culture etc. which may be of use to you. If this interests you, please reply. Correspondance can only be via letters in the post.

Regards,
Kyle

Hello Monika,
I am the father of three boys in Chicago. They are aged 8,8 (twins) and 11.
Currently my boys attend a German Language school every Saturday here in Chicago. Although my family has been here in the USA since the 1700s, our family is origanally frm Germany. Unknown to many Germans is that the German Language is the fourth most spoken language in the USA and millions here speak it, primarily in the upper Midwest, Texas and Pennsylvania.

It is difficult to keep my boys motivated, but I think have actual penpals in Germany would be veryu rewarding for them. They love baseball, swimming and soccer. Their names are Alex, Andy and Thomas. Additionally Alex plays the piano, Andy plays the violin and Thomas plays the alto saxophone. We love to surf and live just off of Lake Michigan (yes, big waves!). We can also exchange email in German. My sons would write German and zour students could write English if that suits you.
Tschüß!
Craig
