Middle school : "Montana students/teacher looking for penpals!"

Hello, I am an English teacher in a small, rural, mountain town in Montana. I teach approximately 80 students between the ages of 12 and 18 (grades 7 -12). I am looking at establishing penpals for students mainly through snail mail with the possibility of using email and internet at a later date. I want my students to learn about other cultures, other students and their interests, as well as learn to be good communicators in the process. If you are a small group or large, I'm willing to work with you and your school. I hope to establish some teacher-friends as well along the way. Get in touch with me. The kids and I are excited about making new friends.

Oh, one more thing. I'm taking a group of students over to Italy, Switzerland, and France this summer for a tour of these wonderful countries and those particular students would be really excited to establish some penpals in those countries as well (even though, none of them can speak any of those languages).

Hi there!
I saw your message on the website and I would be very interested in getting our students to communicate. I'm an English teacher in France. I teach English to children aged from 11 to 13 and they would love to be able to speak English to natives and to talk about their cultural differences.
Let me know if you are interested in having them to write to each other.
Looking froward to hearing from you
Pascale from France (Grenoble)

I am a French-speaking teacher teaching English and my French pupils are looking for snail mail penpals to improve their English and make new friends. When the summer break is over, I will have about 100 kids from 11 to 16 but I don't think all of them will be interested. Let me know if you are interested. Delphine

Hello from Montana! I'm so excited about creating a penpal network with my students. I found this website so late in the school year that I am having to work on setting up this penpal project over our summer break and starting it in the fall of next year (September). I hope that doesn't make anyone change their minds about wanting us as penpal, but I understand if it does. I'm thinking about creating a corner of my room as an international post office where we will post letters, mark our new friends on a world map, and with the help of your students create presentations about the countries with which we are making friends. This is all in the brainstorm stages...I'd love to hear your thoughts and ideas to get this started. Sincerely excited! Cindy

Hi, I am teacher in Poland. The students are at the age of 13-16, our school is small but beautiful. My aim is to show my students that lack of money is not the obstacle for meeting new friends. I want to introduce them other culture but without handbooks .
I would be nice to exchange mails and cards with your students. I also want to moitivate them to meet other culture and other languages. Let me know if you want to cooperate with our school.
