High school : "Seeking secondary age students from Ireland"

Hello!

I am a secondary school teacher in the US. I have a class of about 9 students who have disabilities in the area of writing. I would love to find a class of students about the same age from Ireland for my students to correspond with. I think this would be a great opportunity for my students to practice their writing skills, as well as learn about students from another country.

Hi Corinne!

I would certainly be interested in doing an exchange with your students! I think it is a great idea! Ive never coordinated something like this, so Im not sure how we should go about doing it. Perhaps exchanging the names of the students, and then the students can choose who they would like to write to? I have not yet discussed the idea with my students, but Im sure they would be anxious to participate!

I know I am not Irish, and I am very late to answer but I was very interested in your message because I teach English to a group of 9 chidren who, like yours, have writing disabilities and I thought it would be a friendly exchange to have them write to one another even if I will definitively have to help them ( because they can't write well and because they've just started learning English!)If you are still interested, send me an email, and if you are not, good luck for your exchanges.
