Hi,

I am a French teacher and I am also responsible for a cultural exchange organisation. I have several students aged 14 - 18 who are interested in staying in an American family during summer time. Host families are paid and the goal is to help people get together.

J'espère que cela vous intéressera de me contacter afin que nous puissions discuter d'un partenariat.

Cordialement,

Lysiane Galleron

Hello, i'm a french student from Lyon, iam 21 years old. I would like to leave during 3 weeks or one month in an English-speaking country. In exchange for to be fed and accommodated, I suggest making domestic spots or voluntary work with the children. Thank you for your answer. Cordially. Blandine

Hi,
My name is Evelyne , I am a 42 year-old woman, I am married and I have 3 children. I’ve been teaching English in France for 22 years now. I am currently teaching in a school located in Saint Héand which is a small and quiet village one hour’s drive from Lyon and 3 hours from Paris by train.. It’s called “Collège Joseph Collard” and the address is “La Ronzière”. Our students are nice and well-bred kids, they like learning English and they are dying to go to the USA.

I am really fond of my job and I always try and find ways of making my teaching attractive. For the past five years, I’ve been in touch with a teacher in New Jersey and I had the opportunity to go there three times with a bunch of 21 9th graders and spend a week in your amazing country. Each French student had an American pen pal who hosted him so he could go to school with him and get to know the American way of life. It’s been such an unforgettable and amazing experience!

Unfortunately, my American partner is not available anymore so I’m looking for another school willing to work on that twinning with our school. Of course, we would also be delighted to welcome your students in our school and in our French families. A trip to an English speaking country is scheduled every 2 years in our school . Since we went to New Jersey in 2007, the next one would be planned in 2009.

Would you be interested in that fabulous adventure? Please, feel free to ask me any kind of information and don’t hesitate to contact me.

I look forward to hearing from you.

best regards

Evelyne

Good morning Sophie,

I received your message. It would terrific to get our classes writing to each other.
To begin with- I can send you the names of my students with a brief description of interests for each one- then you can assign specific pen-pals as it seems good for your class.

My students will have to write by regular mail ( at least most of them) as many of them do not have computers at home and our school does not allow outside e-mailing from the school itself. Is this ok?

It will probably work best if I send all the letters together to you rather than each student sending his or her own. This way I can guarantee that everyone writes and you can give the letters out all at the same time. This way nobody will feel left out when or if you discuss the letters as a class.

My students are a bit older than yours- but that wontbe a problem.
For many of my students French is the third language ( They have been studying it only since last September) About one half of my students are bilingual English and Spanish.

We will all be very happy to get some pen-pals. I have been trying since last October but so far this is the first thing that has come along.

Write me as soon as possible and I can devote some class time on Monday to getting you my class list with student interests.

By the way- the internet sight for our school is www.sd129.org Your students mightbe interested. I have a web page ( under the teacher web page button)
Look under Ham ( William Ham)

My direct e-mail is darshan52279@yahoo.com .

Thanks for writing so soon, Sophie.
I hope to hear from you shortly.

-Will

Hi William
I am an English teacher in a 'collège' in the Paris area and am looking for a class to correspond with. Students are in 4ème (year 8) and have a basic to intermediate level of English (there are 53 of them all together). I would like them to have penpals to write to in both languages also sharing ideas about their country, culture and traditions. Should you be interested don't hesitate to email me ASAP.
bye
Sophie
