Roller-skate, Skateboard : "Future rollerblades"

Hey :)! Anyone read or watched the anime "Air Gear"? IF you don't know, it is a manga where new types of roller-skates have been created, they are motorized. And people can make amazing tricks, jump high and other nice things. Do you think that someday it would be possible to have motorized roller-skates like this?

I started studying electronics engineering this year and I'm really thinking of a way to create that. Moreover, motorized skateboards exist.

i am skating sometimes but not regularly. i used a simple skateboard which is easy to ride. But I don't know what is roller skateboard and how we can ride this?? Do you guide me?
