116835 - from Jennifer (USA) - 2017-07-19 Primary school : "Pen-Pal Correspondence" Hello, My name is Jennifer and I am a teacher in Los Angeles, California. I will start teaching a Kindergarten -2nd grade class this upcoming school year. We begin school August 14. I would really like to incorporate a penpal project to introduce my students to new cultures and to practice writing letters. I would also like to make Skype video calls/messages, send postcards, stickers, and drawings. Ideally, I would like the project to be year round and for us to keep in contact through the year. I am a Beaver scout leader looking to incorporate pen pals into my program, which starts mid September and goes till early June. My youth are 5 -7 years old. I don't know yet how many we will have registered, but no more than 15 or 16 is my guess. I We are from Canada.

Je serai très intéressée pour correspondre avec ta classe ! J'ai déjà correspondu avec une classe de New York et une autre au Québec, ça me ferait plaisir de renouveler l'expérience ! Cela donne du sens à l'écrit et permet de découvrir une autre culture, des traditions différentes des notres, d'autres paysages etc ! Ma question est juste de savoir dans quelle langue correspondre ? Car mes élèves commenceront juste l'anglais... Nous recommençons les cours le 4 septembre de notre côté ! À bientôt ! Emilie

My project is to discover others cultures around the world with collective exchanges about : - school and games - home (habitations ?) - Christmas (and then Easter) - food - landscapes etc... I'm agree for postcards and drawings. I'll search for "stickers" cause I'm not sure. We can try Skype. I would like to use e-mails for photos (school, houses, landscapes...). We can send you little songs in French (we record and we join the text too), or sentences ("Bonjour. Je m'appelle... Comment ça va ?") you need to learn. We can write collective letters but we don't speak english, so it would be in French. Are you interested by these ideas ? Bruno

Do you know of any site that king in the USA or Canada for me to contact American or Canadian teachers looking for French partners. Your message could have interested me but your pupils are too young for my class and students of the world mostly propose French teacher since it was created in France.
