: "Pen Pals en Springdale, Arkansas en los EEUU"

I have one class of 5th graders (approximately 15--10-12 year olds) who are eager to have a pen pal from a Spanish-speaking country. We would love to write letters mostly in English, but we will use Spanish too because we know a lot of very basic phrases.

Most of my students have never left Arkansas (our state), so it would be very exciting for them to find out about where you live, what you eat in your country, and anything else your students want to share. If your students don't write much in Spanish, don't worry! We can read some and what we don't know, we will use our resources to figure it out. These students LOVE a challenge and would be great pen pals (pen friends) to your students. If you are interested, please let me know. We are eager to start immediately! Even if you only have a small class, we are happy to partner with several groups even. :)

Thank you for responding to my post. My students did pen pals last year and it worked pretty well; however, I am not planning to do Pen Pals until the end of January. Would that be a possibility for your group? My 10-11 year olds will be participating in Pen Pals. Let me know your thoughts about that.

About us: My students do not have email. We have 1:1 Chromebooks, but the school district does not allow them to email outside of the our school. I am sure there are other technology options that would allow student to student contact and allow me to monitor correspondence.

Take care,
Jacque Hodge-Goff

Hi Jacque,

I am currently working at a language school called Elite Formaccio Integral in Esparreguera, Barcelona teaching English. We have roughly 25 students aged between 8-11 years and roughly 8 students aged 12-15 years the latter is probably more to your interest. We would be interested in finding them pen pals who they could write to and communicate via other forms such as voice files and emails every two weeks. They enjoy learning about other cultures so would be a great match.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,

Emma

Hello,

I'm teaching English to students between 9 and 11 from Barcelona in Spain who would love writing and receiving letters from your students. My students could write in English and yours in Spanish or English. I think it could be a great experience for all of them.

This is my email: jchercon3@gmail.com

Please, contact me!

Thank you

We are not from a Spanish-speaking country, but we are from California . . .My students are 5th and 4th graders and bilingual, as am I . We have a very different culture and would love communicating with people from another state because in 5th grade we do our state reports. Please contact me if we can match our classes for conversations. Thank you, B Lavelle
