104503 - from Melinda (USA) - 2015-07-20 : "1st grade classroom pen pals" I'm a 1st grade teacher. I would like to have pen pals for my students this upcoming school year. I'm looking for a classroom outside the USA. I would love for my students to learn about a new place and culture as well as enhancing their writing skills.

I teach English in extracurricular activities in the south of Spain (Málaga), and in order to improve my student's English and also to motivate them I was thinking of starting a Pen Pal project with English speaker students. I have about 12 students (7-11 years) who would love to contact kids their age and learn some English. If you are still interested, please contact me.

106680 - Reply from Vanessa (France) - 2015-08-18 Hello Melinda, I don't if you found some people to correspond with but if you didn't, I'l interessed to correspond with you and your pupils. Mine are 5 to 7 years old (in september 2015) and there are 20 in the class. 6 are 5 and don't learn english yet but they should, and the 14 of 6 and 7 are english beginners and would be very happy to correspond with chlidren of an other country, by mail or by postmail to exchange many documents, pictures and writings. There will be about 25 pupils at the age of 6-7 in a class with which I want to build a pen-pal project. They will be 1st graders. We could exchange postcards, drawings, small souvenirs and create friendship and cultural awareness among our pupils.
