102154 - from Breanna (USA) - 2014-11-21 Middle school : "PenPals" Hello, I have a group of 6th grade students students from the USA interested in creating pen pals from across the world. We only speak English and would like to start by writing letters, drawing pictures, sending postcards or packages and then maybe skype? I want the students to practice writing letters as well as see that there is a world outside of our small town by learn directly through other students that are their age. I teach in 2 "junior high schools" on the North West coast of France and in one of my classes, one girl talked to me about this website because she would love to have English speaking pen pals.I believe that it would be a great opportunity for her and all her classmates to exchange with your students about their lives, cultures etc... 102186 - Reply from Frederique (France) - 2014-11-24 Hi, I also teach 6th grade pupils. Our school is located in Tarbes in the south west of France. I teach English and I used to work with a school in North Carolina. But my colleague has just retired and I wanted to find a new school in the USA. My students are beginners but they can start writing short letters and talk about themselves. It's not a problem for us if we only communicate in English. I have 44 pupils, aged 11. I find it great if we can start with postcards and drawings. The most important thing is for my pupils to learn how people live outside Tarbes.
