| ¡Hola!
Thank you so much for your lovely message. It is a pleasure to read about your work in Bordeaux, and how exciting that you include Puerto Rico in your curriculum. *La Isla del Encanto* truly leaves a lasting impression, especially because of its rich bilingual and cultural identity.
I am an English teacher in Puerto Rico, working with high school students in grades 10–12. A pen pal project sounds like a **wonderful and meaningful opportunity** for our students. Exchanging authentic testimonies would allow them to practice English in a real context, reflect on cultural identity, and develop global awareness—exactly as you mentioned, opening up to other parts of the world is essential to learning how to live together.
My students regularly work on topics such as:
* Bilingualism and cultural identity in Puerto Rico
* Social issues and current events
* Education, daily life, and youth perspectives
* Connections between Puerto Rico, the U.S., and the global community
A pen pal exchange with students in France would be highly motivating for them, especially knowing they would be communicating with peers who are learning both English and Spanish. We could structure the project through letters, emails, or even guided discussion prompts aligned with our curricula.
I would be very happy to explore this collaboration further. Please let me know:
* The age/grade level of your students
* The preferred language(s) for communication
* The format and timeline you have in mind
¡Ojalá podamos coincidir y hacer este proyecto realidad!
Looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Warm regards,
**Lizned Rivera Bonano**
