My name is Lizned, and I am an ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher working with high school students in Puerto Rico. I am currently looking to start a pen pal exchange with students from other parts of the world.
The goal of this project is to give students an authentic opportunity to:
Practice English in real-life communication
Learn about different cultures and perspectives
Share experiences related to school life, identity, and current topics
Develop respect, empathy, and global awareness
My students are eager to connect with peers abroad and exchange letters or emails in a safe, guided, and educational setting. Voy a hablar con ellos para saber exactamente cuántos alumnos estarían interesados. ¿ Cuántos alumnos tienes?
En un primer momento, pensaba en tomar contacto " de manera general" ( presentación, gustos, pasatiempos,...). Los alumnos podrían escribir un mensaje para presentarse y a partir de eso, ver las aficiones para que puedan corresponder con alguien que tiene más o menos los mismos gustos. ¿ Qué te parece?
Por el momento, el programa no es la prioridad; lo que me gustaría es que ellos pudieran descubrir otro modo de vida, mejorar el idioma,enriquecer su cultura personal ...
Además, aquí, sólo nos queda 3 meses y después son las vacaciones largas. Para mí ser►1a el comienzo de un intercambio que continuaría en Septiembre.

Muchas gracias por tu mensaje. Me alegra mucho saber que tus alumnos están tan motivados; sin duda, ese entusiasmo es clave para que un intercambio sea exitoso.
Soy profesora de ESL (Inglés como Segundo Idioma) en Puerto Rico y trabajo con estudiantes de nivel secundario, cuyas edades son muy similares a las de tus alumnos, por lo que considero que este intercambio sería una experiencia muy enriquecedora para ambos grupos.
La idea de comenzar con cartas y, más adelante, avanzar hacia el intercambio de videos me parece excelente y muy adecuada para fortalecer tanto las destrezas lingüísticas como el conocimiento cultural. A mis estudiantes les encantaría compartir su modo de vida, su cultura y su experiencia como jóvenes puertorriqueños en un contexto bilingüe.
Me pareció especialmente significativo lo que comentas sobre tu alumno interesado en ser profesor de Español; este tipo de proyectos realmente marca la diferencia en la vocación y el crecimiento personal de los estudiantes.
Estoy totalmente interesada en este intercambio y con gusto podemos coordinar los detalles (lengua de comunicación, frecuencia, temas, calendario, etc.) para que se ajuste bien a ambos programas.

We are a group of 17 students from Spain, aged 13–14, studying English as a foreign language at secondary school. We are looking for pen pals from other countries to exchange real, handwritten letters by post.
Our aim is to practise English in a meaningful and motivating way, while learning about other cultures, daily life, hobbies and traditions. Writing real letters will help our students improve their writing skills, vocabulary and confidence in English.

I am a Social Science teacher at a small Montessori School in Stockholm, Sweden. We would love to start a pen-friend project with you. I would like to start with a project with my 9th grade class. I believe we would prefer to communicate in English but they do learn Spanish so it might be fun to do one or two letters in Spanish, but after they have built up a relationship.
I have a similar project with a school in Turkey and in that project the students write letters on paper but I scan them and send them to the teacher there who then prints them. This makes it possible for us to exchange letters once a week.

Une jeune fille de 15 ans originaire de l'ouest de l'Irlande (l'anglais est sa langue maternelle) souhaite correspondre par appel vidéo avec un étudiant français du même âge.
L'étudiant irlandais s'exprimera en français et l'étudiant français pourra s'exprimer en anglais. Les deux peuvent corriger mutuellement leur grammaire et leur prononciation. Peut-être qu'ils peuvent également échanger des e-mails et/ou du courrier postal.
C'est une excellente opportunité pour un étudiant d'améliorer son anglais et pour un étudiant irlandais de mieux parler français. On espère que les appels auront lieu peut-être une fois par semaine, ou plus si les étudiants le souhaitent.

A 15 year old girl from the west of Ireland (English is her first language) wishes to correspond by video call with a French student of similar age.
The Irish student will speak in French and the French student can speak in English. Both can correct one another's grammar and pronounciation. Perhaps they can exchange emails and/or snail mail also.
This is a great opportunity for a student to improve their English and for the Irish student to become more fluent in French. It is hoped that the calls would be once weekly perhaps, or more if desired by the students.
The 15 year old girl plays music (piano, tin whistle and flute). She also plays hockey and enjoys travelling and visiting places. If this is something that interests any 15 or 16 year old that you know, please make contact. Thank you :) |

We are a secondary school in Tanzania, located right at the foothills of the world’s highest free-standing mountain, Mt. Kilimanjaro!
I have 30+ students aged 12–18 who would love to connect with other students as pen pals. They are learning English as their 2nd or 3rd language, so pen pal correspondence is a wonderful way for them to practice. Their English isn’t perfect yet, but they are able to communicate and eager to learn.
In the past, some of our pen pal exchanges (which started here!) even grew into Zoom meetings between our students.
Typically, our students write letters which we compile and send by email.

Je suis à la recherche, pour mes cours de français, d’un projet de correspondance avec des élèves francophones. L’année prochaine, j’aurai deux classes de 2e année (élèves de 13 à 14 ans), soit environ 50 élèves au total, ainsi qu’une classe de 4e année (élèves de 15 à 16 ans) comptant une vingtaine d’élèves. (correspondance en Français, Anglais ou néerlandais)
Nous serions ravis de pouvoir échanger avec vos classes, que ce soit par courrier, par e-mail ou à travers d'autres formats numériques. Ce projet serait une excellente occasion pour nos élèves de découvrir d’autres cultures francophones tout en pratiquant la langue.

J'ai déjà eu plusieurs échanges par emails, aussi via zoom avec les Etats Unis, la Roumanie, la Colombie... J'ai aussi déjà organisé des échanges avec voyages.
Je suis intéressée par votre annonce. En général, je demande aux élèves d'écrire une lettre par mois (ou tous les deux mois) sur un thème à leur élève partenaire et inversement, ils reçoivent une lettre par mois (ou tous les deux mois) sur le même thème et à la fin de l'année on s'envoie mutuellement un colis avec une carte écrite par chaque élève et des bonbons.

Nous recherchons pour l'année scolaire 2025-2026 une classe de Seconde intéressée par une correspondance avec une classe de Seconde néerlandaise. Les élèves pourraient échanger en français et en anglais, par exemple. Si votre établissement est situé en Belgique ou en France, nous pourrions également envisager l'organisation d'un échange scolaire. |

J'ai deux classes de 26-30 élèves et j'aimerais organiser des échanges à long terme : chaque année, un projet d'échanges (mails, projet etc) aboutissant sur un échange scolaire (vous recevoir une semaine, venir vous voir une semaine). Ce sont des élèves de 3ème (dernière année du collège, âge de 14 ans)

I am a Social Science teacher at a small Montessori School in Stockholm, Sweden. We would love to start a pen-friend project with you. I would like to start with a project with my 8th grade class (16 students).
I have a similar project with a school in Turkey and in that project the students write letters on paper but I scan them and send them to the teacher there who then prints them. This makes it possible for us to exchange letters once a week.

We have a Secondary School in Tanzania (just on the foothills of world's highest Mt. Kilimanjaro!).I have 30++ students aged 12-18 who will be glad to engage with other students. They are learning English as their 2nd/3rd language so we find pen pal correspondence very helpful to them. Their English is not yet perfect but they can communicate. Previous pen pals correspondence (that started here) evolved into Zoom Meetings between students! Normally, our students write letters which we put together and send by email. Let me know if you have students who are interested. |
