Society : "Health Care Quality"

Whether you believe healthcare is a right that the government should provide or if it should be kept in the private sector, please respond to this thought.

If health care is taken out of the private sector, all doctors will essentially be given the same patient load and government salary for their level (such as general doctor, orthopedic surgeon, etc). This will cause doctors to make less money and the field will be less lucrative. As a result people will be less inclined to spend so much time and money going to med school just to get a government position. Then there will be a shortage of good doctors, a plague of mediocre to bad doctors, and an overall lack of healthcare for anyone.

This may make the system fairer, but why should we drag an entire nation down to the low end of the spectrum just because some can't make it to the higher end.

Please note that the poorest people (especially children and the elderly) can already get government health insurance, so this is not an issue.

Also, this shortage of highly qualified people in a government run field is common in the US education already.

Please respond in some fashion...even though I have been rambling a little. I hope to hear from many!

It should be interesting to compare your opinion with a european one. I am not fond of our system, it also have lot of unfair points, and it does not work very well those times.

But, considering your arguments, it means the only hope for a student in med school is to get money. I think some must have higher ambition, like a real interest, or a want to help people. I'm aware they are not many.

In addition, a state run health help doctors to have surer jobs, and a still wage: for those who want to earn more money, I guess they should master in one field, which will be more wanted, and I can't find the appropriate word, but a field which can make them wealthier.
The fact is, to be fairer, everyone must afford some basic health standards, but it doesn't mean everyone must go to a psychoanalyst, etc.

I'd like you to answer, I'm interested in your views.
