Schoolmates
Yutaka Kobayakawa
Yutaka is Konata's younger cousin (by 2 years) and Yui Narumi's younger sister. She first appeared in Lucky Star when she had just got into Ryôô High School and moves in with Konata and Sojiro so travelling to and from school was made easier. Poor Yutaka gets sick very easily, and it always usually makes an impact on her school life, but she's always happy nonetheless. Yutaka becomes best friends with Minami Iwasaki, Hiyori Tamura and Patricia Martin, and they sort of have their own version of Konata's clique.
Minami Iwasaki
Minami, like Miyuki, comes from a rich family and background. And also, like Miyuki, lives in the rich neighbourhood and lives across the street from Miyuki, so they knew each other outside of school before Minami went to Ryôô High School. Minami has a very big white dog, Cherry, who she loves. She likes to read, play the piano and play with Cherry the most out of everything. Minami is very quiet and is a girl of few words. Minami is best friends with Yutaka Kobayakawa, and they met on the day of exams for Ryôô High School, and she helped her find the nurses office when she felt sick. Her friends describe her as mysterious and emotionless.
Minami has short, mint green hair, and has sharp eyes like Kagami Hiiragi. She is very like Miyuki, and that's why they get along the most.
Patricia Martin
Patricia, nicknamed Patty (Patti), is a first-year transfer from the United States of America. She is in the same class as Minami Iwasaki and Yutaka Kobayakawa, that's how they are best friends along with Hiyori. Patricia loves anime and manga, and has learned all her Japanese through watching and reading, and that's how she has such an unusual Japanese vocabulary. Patricia says that she enjoys a wide range of Japanese music, but the only songs that she likes from Japanese singers are ones that are used as anime theme songs. She is very energetic and lively. Patricia works with Konata at the same cosplay cafe in Akihabara.
Hiyori Tamura
Hiyori is an amateur doujin (dojin) artist, who is the first year classmate of Yutaka Kobayakawa and Minami Iwasaki. She is an otaku and creates her own doujinshi (dojinshi), and she likes lots of genres. Hiyori is always thinking of good plots, but always ends up resorting back to using Yutaka and Minami, but then becomes very outwardly embarassed. She is very forgetful, and when she thinks of a good plot, she sometimes forgets it and forgets to write it down. Konata nicknames her 'Hiyorin' and that's stuck much like other friends nicknames. Hiyori is very kind and pleasant, but always seems to have bad luck. She has long black hair, and like Miyuki, is a meganekko.
