This particular museum is devoted
to a very important historical event
which gave the name to diorama
“Establishment of the Soviet Power in Vyatka”.
A diorama means a semicircular picturesque piece of painting
with an objectal plan consisting of constructions and true objects.
Saltykov-Shchedrin`s House
It is a one-storeyed three-room house
built in the 19th century.
Mikael Saltykov-Shchedrin
was a prominent Russian writer,
famous for his satirical novels and tales.
He spent more than 7 years in exile in Vyatka(1848-1855).
The Vasnetsovs Brothers Fine Arts Museum
The museum is a pride of the city.
Now it`s a complex of 2 buildings and a monument
to its founders just in the very heart of the city, next to Theatre Square.
The Aviation and Astronautics Museum.
It’s a real pride of the city.
Many documents, photographs, pictures, diagram , schemes
and model demonstrate the most important stages
of Russian aviation and cosmonautics.
Of particular interest will be the information
about Vyatka astronauts Victor Savinykh and Alexander Serebrov, our countrymen.
Here is the monument to our countryman Viktor Petrovich Savinyh.
Grin’s House
It is a one-storeyed brick house typical of the 19th century.
Its halls tell visitors about the creative life of Alexander Grinevsky (Grin)
who is famous for his stories and novels full of romanticism.
The best-loved books are: “Scarlet Sails”(1923),
“Golden Chain”(1925), “Mysterious Stories”(1915).
The Vyatka Local History Museum
It is the largest and richest of its kind in the Vyatka area.
It was founded in the 60-s of the 18th century.
Now it has several affiliated departmens.
They comprise natural history, archaelogical
and ethnographical collections which illustrate
the history and social life of Vyatka from the earliest times.
