|  Hi Emma-Grace! I know this is a really late reply, but I wanted to say something. Of course there are some downsides to being a professional musician for a living, like there isn't a safety net to fall back on in the beginning. But if being a musician is what you really want to do and it's not just a short infatuation, then I say: do it.
You will be happier, you can make other people happier, and you will feel as if you've accomplished something huge. There are tons of record labels out there that would be willing to sign with you, and if you want to be independent, there's Youtube.
If you're still not entirely sure if you want to pursue music, maybe start a small Youtube channel while doing your other job. If the channel picks up viewers, you can switch to doing music full-time.

Hi, one of the things that I aspire to be is a musician! I go to a school of the arts, and one of the things they specialize in is Vocal music. I'm in 2 school choirs and I used sing in a church choir when I was younger. I love listening to music and singing songs of any genre, but my favourites are classical, pop, RnB, indie, and rock. I'm also into broadway theatre, and my favourite musical is Wicked. I play the piano and the ukulele, and I use them as accompaniment intstruments when I sing! My voice type is mezzo-soprano. I also write music. I usually write the lyrics of a song before, and then I choose some chords on my guitar that suit the meaning of the song so far. I also kinda play the bass, so I sometimes record both the guitar and the bass tracks and then I have a full song!
Anyway, I think the best instruments are the guitar or the piano. They're easy to play and with little notes you already have a song!

I'm french and I'm 17. I lovvvee music and I'd like it to be my future job. I play the flute, piano and a bit of cello. I'd like to try the guitar and the piccolo (and have it for christmas ;)). For the guitar, I don't know if I should choose bass, electroacoustic or electric. Do you guys have some advices for the brands of instruments or the technical? |  Hi Chloé! I'm Julia, and I play flute and piccolo as well! As for guitar, I don't play it much, but I'd reccomend Acoustic. With acoustic guitars, you do not have to carry around an amp, and they sound great usually!

|  Hi Chloé, I'm Jane. I am also super-interested in music and I play a couple instruments too (piano, flute, guitar and ukulele). If it's your first time playing a guitar, I would recommend (just) an acoustic one - it's easier to play, you can learn all the chords and basics. When you are going to be more serious about playing the guitar, an electric one is a good option. I think that you will enjoy all the oportunities of the electric guitar more when you are actually going to know how to play an acoustic one. I have to say, that I probably still enjoy acoustic guitars the most. :) If you need some more guitar or non-guitar advice, feel free to text me :)) |
