I am a 27-year old primary school in Germany (Frankfurt). My subjects are English and Maths and I'm currently looking for a class, preferably in the UK, that is interested in a pen-friend project. My students are between 9-10 years old (4t Grade) and they are so keen on learning English. Their level is quite high so I want to motivate them even more by introducing them to authentic speech occasions. So if there is anyone interested, please let me know. I teach English at a secondary school in Bavaria (near Munich). At the moment I have two English classes: 31 students (boys and girls) aged 9-10 (they've just started learning English) and 32 students (boys and girls) aged 12-14 (they are in their 2nd year of learning English). I'd be very interested in finding penpals for them, preferably from an English speaking country. We would like to write letters or emails in English and send a parcel with letters from all the pupils in the class (and other things like pictures, souvenirs from our country, etc.) every other month. I'd also be interested in starting a Travel Buddy Project.

We are a small school in south-west Germany and looking for an Irish school to start a letter exchange with us, to benefit both sides.
The students in question are in year 7, aged around 13-14 years. We have chosen this year group so that their English is already of a high enough standard for a letter exchange. We would ideally like to team up with one of your German classes, in which case our students would write in English, while your students would reply in German. If you do not offer German as a foreign language, we would also be interested in a letter exchange solely in English. As potential topics the letters could cover we thought about everyday life in the other country in particular.
In the future, if the letter exchange scheme is successful, this could be expanded to include other contacts between the learners, such as combining an English lesson via Skype or a smart board, planning a lesson where the students work on tasks together via online chatting programmes, or potentially even organizing an exchange.
Our school is a small secondary school called the Realschule Plus Puderbach, with 300 pupils from grade 5 to 10. Currently, there are 30 teachers. The school is situated rurally, in the Westerwald, in a village. Bigger cities and attractions for sightseeing include Coblenz (50km), Bonn (60km) and Cologne (70km).
We know our students are very keen to learn about everyday life in Ireland, and we hope that such an exchange will enhance their learning. Therefore, we hope that your interest has been caught while reading this short introduction letter. We are looking forward to hearing from you. |

I'm an English student at a German university. For a group project in Linguistics, I am currently looking for 15-16 year olds native and non-native speakers of English who would be interested in participating in a few group conversations with other 15-16 year olds.
So far we were able to 'recruit' students from Germany, France, Romania, Turkey, Portugal and Bulgaria. We're desperately looking for native speakers, but non-native speakers are welcome as well as we want to have a broad, diverse group of participants.
Of course, you could keep up the contact to the other pupils and use them as tandem partners if you're interested in having convos in English, when you're interested in learning the convo partner's language or if you're already learning his/her language.
So if you are 15-16 year old and interested in participating (or know someone who could be), please contact us or ask your acquaintence to contact us.
I can't give you too much information on this web forum because this project is conducted in a university context and therefore has somewhat of a 'private function'. I'd be glad to give you detailed description of the project and the procedure when you contact me.

Hello! My name is Ian and I currently working at a Realschule in Wuppertal, Germany. Our pupils are 10 - 16 years old and we are currently trying to organise an exchange programme with a secondary school in the UK.
The exchange programme would focus on pupils between 14 - 16 years old.

Je suis professeur de francais à l'Ecole Allemande de Séoul en Corée du Sud. Nos élèves (Coréens et Allemands, 11-18 ans) parlent tous l'allemand (langue maternelle) mais aussi très bien l'anglais. Ils apprennent le francais dès la sixième (sechste Klasse, 11 ans) Nous cherchons déséspéramment des correspondants francophones pour des projets communs, des correspondances ou éventuellement des visites mutuelles...
Je serais aussi très intéressée à trouver une école en Afrique ou en Asie dont les élèves apprennent le francais.

Je suis professeur d'espagnol au lycée Français de Hambourg en Allemagne.
Mes élèves de seconde (entre 14 et 16ans) souhaiteraient établir des correspondances en espagnol avec des hispanohablantes d'Espagne ou d'Amérique Latine.
Mes élèves sont débutants et leur castillan est donc encore un peu hésitant mais ils ont la volonté de progresser.
Il y aurait-il des intéressés?

I teach at English-Corner, which is a small Language School of my own in Germany. I'm interested in getting pen friends for my students.
It would be fun if we got classes from all around the world and then had a "cultural fair" at the end of the year to showcase everything we have learned from our pen pals. The German students LOVE hearing about foreign students. The students that would be participating in the exchange program would be 11-12 years old, 5 boys and 3 girls.

Je suis prof de français dans un collège en Allemagne près de sarrebruck. Je cherche une classe pour échanger des emails. Dans ma classe il ya 30 enfants entre 10-12 ans. Ils ont commencé le français il ya 8 mois. On a commencé une salle de classe virtuelle et ils sont très engagés. |

Notre 'Realschule' est située dans la très jolie petite ville de Mülheim an der Ruhr (non loin de Düsseldorf)et mes élèves d'environ 13 ans sont vivement interéssés à correspondre avec des élèves français.
C'est une petite troupe très sypathique et motivée.

I am an English teacher of students aged 11 to 13. My classes (6th and 7th grade) are interested in a pen pal exchange via e-mail with an English-speaking class. I've got 28 boys and girls in each class, who have learned English for two to three years so far. So, they're writing basic level still.
Each student in my class would like to have a single pen friend but it is also possible to have contact from class to class as a whole. We could also make it a bilingual exchange, if your class is learning German at the moment.

Hi there!
My class is quite interested in a classic pen pal exchange with an English-speaking class. I've got 28 boys and girls, all aged around 10, with two years of primary-school English to boast. So, we're talking basic level still.
My class could either send one big letter to another class as a whole, or each student could have their individual pen pal. We'd be open for either possibility, we'd just be happy to get into contact with another class.
If your class is learning German, we could make it a bilingual letter exchange. :-)

Hi! I am an English teacher in Germany and my students are in 8th grade. We would like to start an email-project in September 2010 and are looking for a class from the USA who would like to collaborate on a project with us. I thought of working on an immigration / emigration project. My students could find out about reasons for emigration and your students could find out about reasons for immigrating to the USA. Maybe your students or their ancestors have a story to tell about how they emigrated/immigrated. But this is only a suggestion, other projects are possible. Are you interested?
