I have almost 20 hamsters at home but I never touch or hold 'em cuz I'm afraid they would bite my hand,they kind of chambell hamster, at least maybe there was more than 10 hamsters died but, they always have 8 more baby mice again -,,- I tried to sell them to my friend so I don't have to many hamster again, but after my friend bought 'em from me one of my hamster have a baby again at least 5 baby.. I decide to take 'em to forrest near my house tho hahahhaa xD |

Ever since I got my hamster, back in December, I can be holding her and her eyes start bleeding. She will always, directly before they start bleeding, lick me a few times. It's almost as if she is trying to tell me her eyes are going to start bleeding. I am not squeezing her or holding her upside down as she is very fidgety and if I was to let her go she would run for it. Is this normal? Is there anything I could do without having to go to the vet? All help greatly appreciated :) |
My friends gerbil died near New Years eve a few years ago, now every New Years she gets very emotional and has still got all of the Gerbils stuff. How can I persuade her to move on and let go? |

I have recently noticed the back of my hamsters ears are going bald and he's stopped eating. I can now feel his ribs and I am really starting too worry! Has anyone got any suggestions or advice? Has this happened too your hamster? Please let me know! :) |

| | Thanks everyone for your replies! :D There doesn't seem to have been any changes but I bought a vitamin thing that you add to the hamsters water and the hair behind his ears is slowly growing back. He still doesn't eat much, but when I add a bit of water into his food bowl he runs up to it and starts eating alot of it. Thank you for all your help! :) |

| well, if you have a spare plastic toat that you can put holes in ect. you can put holes in the top and 2 holes in the sides to put the wires for the water bottle in. the bedding & food is really cheap. the food i have is like 5 US dollars... you need a wheel, so it can excersize while you sleep, and some toys for it to chew on ect. you also need a home/ box thing for it to sleep in, they normally sleep during the day. as for treats you can feed them pretty much any fruits & vegetables.. they love peanut butter in really small amounts.. make sure when you first get the hamster put it in the cage and dont handle it for 2-3 days... if you get a wire wheel & it squeaks use olive oil. ummmm... i use wood shaving bedding.. dont get stringy bedding it can get wrapped around thier legs & lose them. make sure your water bottle dosnt leak. if it does it could make a mold & kill the hamster. give your hamster new food & fresh water every day. bedding changes depend on the amount.. just change it when it looks/smells dirty.
toilate paper rolls are great for them to chew on. DO NOT feed it chocolate or caffine. if you have any questions about anything email me at laffy_taffy606@hotmail.com ill reply as soon as i see it. |

| | Syrian hamsters have an average life expectany of 2.5 years, but it is not guaranteed that your hamster will live as long as that. Just buy a bag of hamster food from the pet shop. And you should clean out your hamsters cage once a week. |

| Syrian hamsters tend too live 1-2 years however, some have been known to live up to 6 years old! (If they are very healthy!) Feed your hamster pellets and small amounts of veg.
P.S. No matter what 'youtube' says, it IS safe to give your hamster a bath, but very occasionally. |

They never be afraid of me,and they can sleep and eat on my hands.

I love hamsters they are wonderful I have a hamster called Milko he is really funny and fluffy he is 2 years iold and he is like a baby he is not ill so he is realyl healthy he loves 2 run round in his ball like a maniac. we keep his cage shut but some times he still manages to escape it is really horrid he goes under the cupboard ma dad takes out the panel and he comes running from under the floor boards.
