: "Australian Year 2/3 class looking for penpals from other countries!"

Hello, I am a teacher of a year 2/3 class (children aged 7/8) and we are learning about countries from around the world. We live in Australia and would love to be able to write to other children of a similar age group from different countries. Is there a teacher who is interested in exchanging letters/penpals for their class?
Thankyou
Jenni

Hello,
I understand that you wrote this message a few years ago, but would you be interested in trying again this year? We are a class of 23 students in 3rd grade in New York City who are now learning about Australia. This would be a wonderful opportunity for them. Please let me know if you are interested. You can email me at samarielle829@gmail.com

Thanks for your time,

My son is a 2nd grader at Fullerton IV Elementary school in Oregon, USA. They have read the book Flat Stanley and are now trying to send out paper cut outs of this paper boy to locations as different from ours as possible. With the paper cut out is a journal for the penpal to write about different adventures they have taken flat stanley on locally (anything descriptive about location or way of life for the kids here to learn about). A picture of flat stanley on an adventure would be great but mostly we just need someone willing to have some fun participating on the adventure of this paper boy. Please email me at carlybrammer@yahoo.com and let me know if this is something you would be interested in.
Best wishes,
Carly

Hello!
I am a third grade teacher at an inner city school. We struggle with writing, and I thought that penpals would be a great way to encourage my kids to write! I have 19 students in my class, but our entire third grade is about 90 if we need more kids to write. Please let me know if you are interrested in becoming penpals!!!

I teach 1st grade in US, we are mostly six and seven. I am looking for someone to exchange class letters rather than individual letters, as this modeling is excellent reading and writing instruction as well as a great way to learn about other cultures. Would this interest you? Kathy

Hello,

I am giving private English lessons in Istanbul. One of my students, a 9 year old girl (has been learning English from the age of 4) would like to practice reading/writing through communication with a penpal (e-mail). I am thinking of incorporating this into the lessons, next lesson is on Sunday:)

Kind regards
Sandra

Dear Jenni,

I am a parent of a 6-year-old first grader named Sophia. She would like to be a pen pal and I would assist her with e-mail correspondence. I know you are probably looking for a whole class of children but if one child wants to write to Sophia we would love the opportunity.

Also Sophia's class has just read a book called Flat Stanley. We are mailing Stanley (who is a boy who was flattened and is on a piece of paper according to the story) to all parts of the world for him to have adventures. There is a letter that accompanies "Stanley" for the children to fill out which asks them to provide information about their part of the world and then mail it back to the student who sent Stanley to them (for more details go to http://www.flatstanley.com/how.html). If you/your class would be willing to assist us with this project we would be thrilled. We would need an address to mail Stanley to.

Thank you for any help you can provide.
Lisa Scarsi
P.S. We live near Disneyland in Southern California and Sophia goes to Heritage Oak private school.
