| Hello, my name is Mrs. Calondra L. Slack. I am a teacher in the wonderful United States. I have been in the teaching profession for nine years. I have taught in the states of Illinois, Nevada, Tennessee, and currently in Mississippi(where I teach Reading/Language Arts to 5th grade).
I responded to your message because I am putting together along with my principal and colleagues a MULTICULTURAL FAIR! It is going to be a very exciting event. The students are excited about learning different cultures.
Each grade level (Kindergarten through 5th grade) has a country to represent: The 5th grade students ( 10, 11, & some 12 year olds) have agreed on studying Greece!!! Yeah!!! They are researching on the Internet almost daily.
Their most recent assignment is to write a letter to a Greek student asking about Greek culture. I think this is one of my most rewarding experiences in teaching.
It would be totally awesome to have as many penpals respond to their letters. There is just one problem: We have NO addresses of schools in Greece that we can mail our letters. The students would love to have correspondence with Greek students to learn more about the Greek culture and hopefully begin penpal relationships.
If at all possible, would you be willing to send a school address to us. We want to mail our letters in a timely fashion. We want to have some responses, brochures, postcards, pictures, and/or materials by February 29th for our displays in the hallway.
Please respond accordingly as soon as you can.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Calondra L. Slack
