Are you dating Miley Cyrus?
*No I'm not dating Miley Cyrus. I've never even met her but I know that her dad is from Kentucky too.*
SO, IS SHANNON YOUR GIRLFRIEND?
*Yes she is. And no I didn't lie. That's y I don't like answering questions like that. I didn't have a girlfriend for a while and now I do. She's a really awesome person. She's nice and funny and we like to hang out.*
Who's your favorite NFL team?
My favorite team is the Cincinnati Bengals and my favorite player is Rudi Johnson....Rudi, Rudi, Rudi!!!
How did you do that picture with the water bottles?
Ok, some of you have no idea what I'm talking about and maybe some of u do. There is this pic on the internet someplace of me & my friend Cole with what looks like water bottles just sticking to us. We were are a bowling alley and thought we'd try this. Those bottles are actually being thrown at us and we don't catch them because we were trying to take a picture of them. It looks pretty cool. So, 2 people threw them at us while 1 person took the picture. Our eyes are closed cuz it's an automatic reflex to close ur eyes when something is coming at you. Anyway-that's how it was done.
What's your favorite video game?
It changes but right now it's probably Madden '07 for XBox 360. Sometimes though I really like war games, right now I'm playing Call of Duty 2 on 360. I don't really play them that much except when I'm filming 'cuz it's easy to do between scenes and stuff or when my little bro is around cuz he loves video games.
Is Journey 3D now coming out in 2008?
As of right now, they've moved it 2008. It has to do with the type of projector that it uses. It's better if you see it with some type of digital projector and they're just now starting to get them into theaters so if they wait until 2008 more theaters will have them.
What religion are you?
I'm sorry, but that's one of the questions that's just too personal for me to answer. I appreciate everyone asking but I'm just going to keep that to myself and my family. I hope u can respect my privacy on that.
What's your fave vacation spot?
Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island in the Bahamas! It's so awesome!! They have so much to do there. There's tons of water slides, pools, the beach, teen club (that is age specific, like 13 - 16 years old). It's the coolest place I've ever been.
Since you're in Montreal, do you speak French?
No, I don't speak French. I've tried to pick up some words while I'm here and I can say a couple of things, but nope - I'm not very good at it.
What do you look for in a girl?
Wow - this comes up a lot. Honestly it's hard to put that into a simple list. I'd say that they have to be real, not snobby or high maintenance. They have to like to have fun and be on the go doing stuff. I really like it when they're into some sports or fitness. I also like it when they're outgoing and friendly- talkative but not too talkative. When I have a girlfriend and she comes to visit me when I'm working then she has to meet a lot of people and go to dinner and stuff like that - so if they like to hang out with new and different people that's good too. A nice smile is awesome.
Do you get freaked out by all the girls saying how much they love you and want to marry you?
LOL! No - the truth is that if actors didn't have fans and people who really liked them, then they wouldn't have jobs and be successful. So, I'm very flattered and thankful when people like me or the work that I do.
Do you only date "celebrities"?
NO! The truth is, I don't know many actors or celebrities my age. If I don't work with them then I probably don't know them. When I'm not working I live in Kentucky so I don't hang out with "celebrities". I just hang out with my friends at home. I wouldn't date or not date someone just because they were or were not a celebrity.
Do you change what people write on your guestbook?
No, unless they put a phone number. If somebody puts a phone number we go in and take it out. Also, some people have written really dirty things or used lots of bad words and those won't get approved.
What was it like wearing those baggy clothes in R.V.?
It was different - that's for sure. They weren't really my type of clothes but it's kinda fun to do something completely different than what you normally do. They weren't really that comfortable.
What was it like working with JoJo?
JoJo is awesome. We became really good friends and hung out all the time away from the set. We're close to the same age and we like a lot of the same things so it was cool to have someone around like that. We had a lot of fun filming.
Do you ever wish you weren't an actor and just had a normal life?
No, not really. I love what I do. But the really cool thing is that when I'm not working, I'm just at home in Kentucky with my friends doin' the stuff that everybody does when they're teenagers, like go to the movies, and water parks and all kinds of stuff like that. Then I go to film a movie and do different kinds of things. It's like having the best of both worlds and I feel really lucky to have that.
Does Connor want to be an actor too?
NO WAY! He's done a couple of things just because he was there and it worked, but, he's really really smart and he wants to be a rocket scientist or something cool like that.
How come you can update your blog and FAQ's but you can't reply even hello to your emails?
It's easy for me to add a blog or FAQ every few days because it's just one thing. I get literally a hundred or more emails a day. There would be no possible way I could reply to all of those. I wish I could but then I wouldn't have time to work, or eat, or just be with my friends. So, all I can do is read them when I can and let everyone know what's up through my blog and if there's a question I get a lot then I put it on the FAQ page. Hope this helps.
How old are you?
I'm 14 years old and my birthday is October 12.
So do you have a myspace or was the one on there always a poser?
Okay, up until last week I had a myspace and there was a link to it on this website on my home page. But, since myspace found out I'm not 14 yet they deleted it. So, now I won't have one until I turn 14 on Oct. 12. Once I get one then I'll put the link back on here.
How did they make you look so young in Kicking & Screaming and Little Manhattan?
Actually, they didn't make me look young, I was younger. I filmed Kicking & Screaming from January to April of 2004 and I was only 11 and Little Manhattan was just after that from May to July so I was only 11 then too.
I could see in some of your movies that you have a scar on your hand. Is that real and how did you get it?
Yep, it's real. I got it when I was like 7 years old. My best friend Keifer was staying over and I woke up early like at 7am and was using an exacto knife to cut an action figure's hair (yeah, I know, but I was only 7), anyway, it slipped and went right on my hand. I woke my parents up and had to go get stitches! It took 6 stiches, I think.
Do you and Connor fight a lot?
YES!! We fight all the time. It drives my mom crazy, but that's just the way brothers are. We love each other more than anything and have fun together, but fight too.
How long does it take to get the autographed picture in the mail?
Ok, so normally we try to get them back within a week or two, but, while I'm filming it takes longer. The mail goes to Kentucky and then my dad brings it up to Canada when he comes. So while I'm filming it will probably take more like 3 or 4 weeks to get it back.
How old is your brother Connor?
Who do you most want to work with that you haven't yet?
I'd say it's Jake Gyllenhaal. I really like his work.
Who's your favorite person that you've worked with?
Well, I'd have to say, I haven't worked with him that long and we haven't started filming yet, but Brendan Fraser. He's great.
Are there any forums where you talk to people or write on?
No, there aren't any forums that I am on. I've had a lot of people asking me if that's really me on this or that forum and it's not. I guess there are a lot of people out there pretending. At this point, the only place that's really me would be this site or my myspace site (which my 17 yr old aunt runs). The link for that is on my homepage here.
Are you right handed or left handed?
How come you've never written me back or replied to my emails?
Well, here's the deal. I love hearing from everyone in emails, letters and the guestbook. But, while I'm filming I just can't respond to all that. I get really busy while we're filming and by the time I read the guestbook entries, the emails, and the letters, I just don't have time to respond to individual things, BUT that's y I try to add things to my blog and the FAQ page. It goes to more people that way. I hope everyone understands, but I just really want to focus and do a good job while I'm working. I really really appreciate all the support and I hope u keep it comin' even though I can't write back.
What size envelope should I send for a picture?
Send a properly postaged self addressed envelope that is big enough to hold a 5x7 picture.
What color are you eyes?
My eyes are hazel with a little bit of blue in them.
Who's your favorite actor?
That's a hard one. I'm not really sure. I really like Brad Pitt as an actor. He's played some awesome roles, like in "12 Monkeys". But I like a lot of different actors too, I just think he's probably my favorite.
Is it really me who signs the autographed picture that you can send for?
Yep, it's me. It's not a stamp or pre-printed.
If you don't have a girlfriend y does it say u do in Popstar! Magazine?
There are a couple of reasons. One being at the time, I did have a girlfriend. And two is that article was written at least 4 months ago now. Things change. That's the deal with magazines. Sometimes they do the interview as far as 6 months out and then when they publish it, some things have changed. Sometimes they get things wrong too, like it says in there that I have a boxer and a puppy named Baxter. I only have one dog and it's a puppy boxer named Diesel.
What's my favorite sport?
Well, I love sports of all kinds. My fave one to play is probably football right now. But it kinda goes in and out. I like soccer, football, basketball, baseball, tennis, running and pretty much any sport.
How old are you and how tall are you?
These are the biggest questions that I get. I'm 13 and I'm 5'1" and I'll try to keep that updated 'cuz it's already changed a lot in the past few months. That's y I don't really answer or write that down 'cuz at this age it changes so much.
What's my favorite TV show?
I don't watch a whole lot of TV, but probably Family Guy or maybe The Andy Milonakis Show.
Do you have MSN or AIM or anything like that?
Ok, I want to clear this up 'cuz some people misread my blog and think that I'm not the one reading their emails from this site. That's not true. What I mean is that I don't have a "personal" email or MSN or AIM that I can give out. I read the emails from this site and reply when I can. I hope this clears it up some. Thanx.
How did you start acting?
I had wanted to do it since I was about 4 years old and so I bugged my parents for almost 5 years till they let me give it a try. I got an agency in Cincinnati (which is near where I live) and they brought in an acting coach for a workshop. He told us that we should go to L.A. for pilot season. So he helped us find an agency in L.A. and we went out for pilot season and that's how it all started.
Why are you in 9th grade and you're 13 years old?
I actually just started 9th grade. At my age I should be finishing 7th grade (someone just pointed that out that I was wrong about 8th grade), but with homeschooling one on one with a tutor I'm able to work ahead. I'd like to graduate by the time I'm 16. I also go to school year 'round. I do homeschooling even through the summer (some - not as much as during the school year).
What's your fave movie that you've made and why?
That's really hard because I've really liked each of them for a different reason. All around, probably Zathura. That was awesome because of all the stunts and cool ways that they filmed it. They used 3 different sets. One shook like a 9.2 earthquake, one tilted at a 45 degree angle and the other was still. Also, it was all in the same place so once we got there, we got to do cool stuff with the trailer for Halloween and Christmas and stuff like that. It was a lot of fun.
Is the tatoo you have in some of your pictures real?
No -- I'm too young for a real one (plus my parents would NEVER let me). It's a henna one that I had done at a street fair. It's for fun.
Can I see your email address on the guest book page?
No. So, I can't reply to guest book entries, but I do read all of them and if I see a question come up a lot, I'll put the answer on here.
What grade are you in and do you go to public school?
I'm currently in 9th grade. I'm homeschooled so I have a tutor and since we work one on one I'm able to work ahead. I don't go to public school because with being gone filming a lot it's hard to stay with a class like that and makes it difficult going in and out of the class.
Is this really you emailing me back?
Yes it is. But, if it says "auto-response", then that means I typed it up and was sending it to a lot of people because I didn't have much time. Otherwise, I promise - I do read all the emails but if I responded to all of them too, then I would never get off the computer. That's why I'm now using the FAQ page.
What's it like being an actor?
It's so much fun because you get to do all kinds of different things and meet lots of new people. For example, I had to learn to skateboard for one movie and do karate for another. It is also hard work though because it's usually long hours and sometimes very early or very late, but I love it anyway.
Do you have AIM or MSN messenger?
No, I don't have those anymore. I used to. I'm not on the computer much at all (which is why it takes me forever sometimes to answer emails). Anyway, because of that, I'll try harder to keep my blog updated.
Do you go to school?
I'm actually home schooled. I have a tutor who travels with me on all the movie shoots and I do 3 hours of school a day when I'm working. When I'm not working, I'm still home schooled.
Are you Filipino?
No, that got all confused. I did an interview with a Filipino TV station and I told them that I had family that was from the Philippines and now I hear all this stuff about my dad being Filipino or I have a Filipino girlfriend. Here's the deal, I have an aunt by marriage that is from the Philippines.
What's your fave color?
I don't really have a favorite color, I actually don't have a lot of favorites of anything because I like a lot of different things...but if I HAD to choose one it would probably be red.
What's your fave music type?
Same thing there. I listen to all kinds of music and I kinda go in spurts. I like rap, alternative, EMO, rock, some pop...I guess right now I'm in a rap phase.
When did you start acting?
I started acting when I was 9 years old.
Did you have any training?
No, I just had always wanted to do it and my parents finally let me give it a try.
Where are you from?
I'm from Kentucky.
