Khleo made his debut as a child-guest on Bill Cosby's Kids Say the Darndest Things. Khleo says that school is very important to him. His mother, who was born in Morocco, speaks five languages. What subject does Khleo like most? "I like science because of the different things you can do, like dissect frogs," he said.
Thomas, whose full name is Khaleed Leon (Khleo is a stage moniker combining the two), was born in Anchorage, Alaska, where his father was stationed with the Army. After relocating to Southern California, he began working in commercials at age 6. Though "Holes" is based on a popular book, neither Thomas nor LaBeouf had read it before they were cast.
"After I read it," Thomas says, "I expected to be in the desert, but you just can't be ready for that until you're right there." To prepare for the 100-plus-degree heat they would endure while filming outside Ridgecrest, they underwent a two-week physical training camp.
As he explains, "We had to climb rope, dig holes, run, go hiking, do sit-ups and push-ups. The whole time we were thinking, why do we need this? Then we get to the desert and we understood. It was so hot, you could only be in a hole for 20 minutes at a time."
Besides Holes, Khleo also had a small role in Friday after Next and he plays "Mario" in the Mario Van Peebles film Baadasssss!. He appeared as "Pete" in the remake of Walking Tall the remake of the 1973 hit. He is set to appear in 2005 along with Bow Wow in Roll Bounce it is about 1970s roller-skate jams fuel coming-of-age comedy, as X (Bow Wow) and his friends, who rule their local rink, are shocked when their home base goes out of business. Heading over to the Sweetwater Roller Rink, they find their modest talents are, at first, no competition for their trick skaters and pretty girls who follow their every move. Khleo also has a role in the 2006 release of Dirty and did the voice of "Jason/Sure Shot" in the direct to video The Golden Blaze.
On TV he has guest starred on City Guys, Super Short Show and recently on the long running ER as "Brian" a 13 year old with a hard lesson to learn in the episode "Forgive and Forget" early in 2004. as well as The Wayne Brady Show. He also appeared in the made for television movie Going to the Mat from Disney Original Movies. His other TV guest spots includes Family Law and Kids Say the Darndest Things.
