At the time there were only about half a dozen portacabins for our use. We would commute occasionally to Doha, a varied and cosmopolitan modern city. The inhabitants were very hospitable and co-operative. I later worked in Dhukan from March 1991, immediately after the second gulf war. The hospitality and reception was still there, but even moreso! The authorities couldn't do enough to help us. Meantime, a vast industrial complex had been built on our tiny beach complex! Imagine my great surprise in this year 2005, that much of the gas being exported will be imported to facilities being established in my home town of Milford Haven, Wales, U.K. It's a small world isn't it! eantime, I have many happy memories of my trips to this vibrant country and its people.
