You walked up to me
your hair blew in the wind
Said hello and asked
If I remembered you
I smiled and said yes
We talked on the way to school
Something was born
On that fine autumn day
Little did I know what it was
A friendship grew
but I longed for more
I blushed when you spoke
My friends teased
It was nothing for me
but everything for you
You were scared that you might
Hurt me or break my heart
Courage grew feelings fell
You did not hurt me
But I was forced to move on
Our friendship grew
My feeling turned invisible
But then my feelings withdrew
Their dark cloaks
And the pile of my emotions
Grew into a mountain
I began to smile and blush again
I sensed worry grow in your eyes
Born anew but all the same
I opened my heart
And you forced it to close
I told you I loved you
And you smiled
Told me you did also
Just in other ways
I sighed, nodded
and broke my own heart
Now that we are still friends
Only know that I will
Keep trying
To show you my heart
No matter how long you force it closed
