| Yes, this tends to be true. In the rarest of cases neither party is interested in being just friends and they can go on having a good friendship. In other cases one likes the other, but feels they cannot risk the friendship by mentioning the fact. In other cases, the fact is made known and either the other person agrees to dating or denies the idea. In this last case, the friendship oftentimes falls apart and simply cannot continue either after the fact that one likes the other is made known or after a breakup. In another rare instance, sometimes the couple was actually meant to be together and have a long and lasting relationship.
It is a pity, and perhaps at times a blessing, that such feelings oftentimes corrupt a platonic relationship. |
